The congress provided an opportunity to review key aspects of long-term care and palliative medicine, with an emphasis on pain and its treatment; contemporary therapeutic alternatives; managing and a relieving the symptoms of patients in need of long-term and palliative care; palliative care in general practice; standards and health policy in the field of long-term and palliative care; psychological, moral, legal and other problems.
The programme included guest lecturers – professors in prestigious universities in Europe, Japan, Israel, etc. With plenary reports on key issues in the field.
